IL-10 plays an important role in pathogenesis and contribute to severity of RF/RHD. Serum IL-10 level is high in RF/RHD and is associated with IL-10 gene polymorphism. IL-10 SNP is associated with genetic predisposition & susceptibility towards RF/RHD.
