CIE induces marked variation in neuroactive steroid levels across the BXD cohort of mice. 3α,5α-THP levels correlate negatively with ethanol intake in CTL and CIE conditions. Variation in neuroactive steroids is linked to phenotypes of anxiety sensitivity.
