Expression of GSH1 and MTA transcripts strongly induced due to Si under Cd stress in roots of peas.

Uptake of Fe and expression of RIT1 correlated with Cd uptake and translocation in peas.

Si caused significant increase in CAT, POD, SOD and GR activities along with S-metabolites.

The study illustrates first evidences on the effect of Si alleviating Cd toxicity in pea plants.
