On the effects of non-watertight doors on progressive flooding in a damaged passenger ship

Effects of non-watertight structures on progressive flooding have been studied. Time-domain simulation with simplified leakage and collapse models are utilized. Status of fire doors is shown to have significant effect on the flooding process. Leakage and collapse properties of doors have smaller effect than the door status. Results provide new insight into the damage stability analyses for passenger ships.
