ECN Spray G injector has been investigated focusing on spray collapse phenomena. The work features a wide range of experimental conditions to describe spray collapse. Liquid and vapor phases were studied using DBI and Schlieren in a Delphi GDi injector. Moderate values of gas density and gas temperature are necessary for spray collapse. The collapse can completely change the penetration, angle and morphology of GDi sprays.
