Characterizing pharmaceutical, personal care product, and hormone contamination in a karst aquifer of southwestern Illinois, USA, using water quality and stream flow parameters
文摘
Karst aquifers are vulnerable to surficial contaminants due to their geology. Pharmaceutical, personal care product, and hormone levels were measured. 49 other water parameters, such as microbiota and ions, were measured. 89% of karst aquifers had pharmaceuticals and other products; 23% had hormones. Gemfibrozil levels were significantly related to overall PPCP contamination.
