The Newer Volcanics Province has a long-term eruptive flux of 0.15–0.20 km3/ka. Eruptive fluxes of IBVFs range over six orders of magnitude. The majority of low- to high-flux IBVFs result from shallow tectonic processes. Tectonic process rates, mantle composition, and mantle source size control flux.
