Mantle peridotites from the Kalaymyo and Myitkyina ophiolites in Myanmar have been studied.
The Kalaymyo spinel lherzolites have been subjected to 3–15% degrees of fractional melting.
Spinel harzburgites from both ophiolites have experienced 11–21% degrees of fractional melting.
Refractory harzburgites from both ophiolites have experienced hydrous melting.
Both MOR- and SSZ-type peridotites crop out in the Kalaymyo and Myitkyina ophiolites.
