Degradation efficiency of thyroxine and diatrizoate followed UV/S2O82− > > UV/H2O2 > UV. Release of iodide was observed during UV–254 nm photolysis. Second-order rate constants of thyroxine with HO and SO4− were determined. Efficient destruction in UV/S2O82− occurred when bio-treated wastewater was used.
