Using resonant ultrasound field-incorporated dynamic photobioreactor system to enhance medium replacement process for concentrated microalgae cultivation in continuous mode
Cell harvest in RUF-DPBS is carried out by RUF-induced acoustic radiation forces. Escaped cells can be repeatedly subjected to collection during RUF-mediated harvest. 90% mobile N. oculata can be arrested by optimal RUF-DPBS settings within 2 h. The medium replacement in RUF-DPBS is driven by gravity without need of electricity. The RUF-DPBS offers a labor- and cost-effective means for perfusion cell culture.
