A first time-calibrated phylogeny of the antlion family (Myrmeleontidae) is reported. The phylogeny identifies four monophyletic subfamilies. Currently ranked as a subfamily, Stilbopteryginae could also be regarded as a family. Dating analyses indicate that antlions originated and diversified rapidly in the Early Cretaceous.
