Photosynthetic electron transport is inhibited in chloroplasts of tomato phyA. Concomitant decrease in plant growth and shoot biomass production is observed. Transitory leaf starch metabolism is also altered in mutant plants. Possible role for phy A in photosynthetic functions of tomato
