A sulfidic condition spread onto the Yangtze carbonate platform interior during the late Cambrian Stage 2.

Local and widespread phosphogenesis occurred during the Late Ediacaran to earliest Cambrian.

OM accumulations of Early Cambrian shales were in connection with persistently anoxic conditions and intermittent replenishment of recycled organic P to surface waters.
