The degradation rate in the polymeric stent depends on its embedding depth. The release profile of two drugs, Sirolimus and Paclitaxel, are compared. The lowest concentration of the unbound drug is in the region of the stiffer plaques. The likelihood of occurrence of restenosis is higher in the stiffer plaques.
