Study of vapour cavitation of journal bearing using vibration & acoustic emission.

The vapour bubbles have been captured simultaneously.

The evolution of vapour bubbles during cavitation increases with increase in speed.

There is relative decrease in size of bubbles with elevation of speed.

A band of 175 to 570 kHz frequencies has been reported during cavitation.

The vibration spectrum has peak at a frequency slightly less than 0.5 X.
