Catalytic cracking of LDPE dissolved in benzene was studied in a fixed bed reactor. Effects of temperature and liquid hourly space velocity (LHSV) on process performance were investigated. The liquid products contained C4C8 aliphatics and C7C12 aromatics. Changes in properties of used catalysts were related to unreacted polymer and coke. Benzene reacted with cracked LDPE chain to form substituted benzenes.
