Hydrophobic chlorophylls (Chls) were formulated and monomerized in P-123 and F-127 micelles. Chlorophylls with phytyl chain were localized in the micelle's core while phorbides are positioned in the outer layer. The presence of chlorophylls resulted in stable formulations even at low temperatures. The microenvironment of the P-123/Chls presents lesser temperature-dependence than F-127 micelles. The results help us to design a new drug delivery system for chlorophylls based on pluronics aqueous micelles.
