An available experiment measuring actin retrograde flow over a region of confined receptors has been modeled theoretically. The model reproduces the measured velocity profile, which is an slowdown over the receptors, and a following speedup after that. The present study explains that the main factor in shaping the velocity pattern of the actin retrograde flow, is its driving force. The predicted driving force by the model, which is a pushing force by the upstream flow (provided by actin polymerization), and a pulling force from the downstream by Myosins corroborates the current understanding.
