INICATs – organic initiator and catalyst in one molecule have been synthetized. INICATs are the only end groups in PLAs. PLAs with Mn up to 56 000 have been obtained with INICAT. Kinetics of l-lactide polymerizations has been studied by NMR, DOSY, and FTIR. Polymerization of l-lactide with INICATS proceeds as living and controlled.
