Spinodal decomposition in ternary Fe-Cr-Co system

Desired magnetic properties in Fe-Cr-Co alloys can be reached via the spinodal decomposition. Tendency towards spinodal decomposition of solid solution in ternary Fe-Cr-Co system has been studied from first principles. Increase Co and Cr content increases the tendency towards the spinodal decomposition. High magnetic properties and thermal stability of these properties can be obtained in alloys with high Co concentration.
