2D population balance model for high aspect ratio crystals with breakage is discussed. Crystal-crystal nonlinear and crystal-impeller and −wall linear breakage are modelled. The system of equations for 2D mixed moments is solved by the 2D QMOM-ODE method. The secondary nucleation, crystal growth and breakage are interconnected by CSD. Linear and nonlinear breakage processes are important factors in crystals formation.
