POSS compounds can interact with the model membranes formed of DPPC. Character of moieties in POSS molecules strongly influences the texture of mixed DPPC-POSS monolayer. DPPC mixed with OFP–POSS and with PEG–POSS form the LE and the LC monolayers, respectively. The incorporation of POSS molecules to DPPC causes fluidizing effect of monolayer.
