Wastes of industrial potato processing plants were utilized as sole carbon source.

A. niger and S. cerevisiae were employed for SSF bioethanol production.

A medium consisted of waste potato mash, malt extract and FeSO4·7H2O was optimized.

The optimum medium had 92.37 g/L waste potato, 59.42 g/L malt extract, and 0.159 g/L FeSO4·7H2O.

35.19 g/L ethanol as produced in optimum medium.
