Power output analysis and optimization of two straight-bladed vertical-axis wind turbines

Power output of two straight-bladed vertical-axis wind turbines is simulated. Performance of the system is analyzed and optimized using Taguchi method. The influence strength order of each factor is featured by λ > β > RD > S/d > ϕ. Tip speed ratio and incoming flow angle play crucial roles in determining power output. Mean power output of optimized dual turbine system is higher than single one by 9.97%.
