It examines the sustainability characteristics of Poyang Lake Eco-Economics Zone. It uses the global non-radial directional distance function and its duality theory. The data of 38 prefectures during 2009–2013 is applied to empirical research. Many regions do not perform well, despite overall efficiency increase over time. The waste water has much lower shadow prices compared to sulfur dioxide and soot.
