A 2D-numerical model based on the solute conservation equation and the steady Navier-Stokes equations has been developed. The local permeate flux and the solute concentration polarization are predicted with an excellent accuracy. Our model predicts a faster decline in permeation due to a rapid development of the polarization boundary layer. A good agreement was obtained between our numerical results and varied reverse osmosis experimental results.
