we present 3-D seismic images of the crust below the Kachchh rift zone, india
A decrease in seismic velocities in the rupture zone during 2001-10
A slight increase in seismic velocities in the rupture zone during 2011-13
Decrease in velocities is attributed to elevated pore fluid pressure
Recovery of velocities is attributed to crack healing
Imaged several deeper zones of reduced seismic velocities
These zones are inferred to be filled with metamorphic fluids / volatile CO2
Deeper fluid circulation is shown to generate episodic seismic activity
