Effect of pH values on recovery of nano particles (NPs) from the fine fraction of automobile shredder residue (ASR): An application of NPs for phenol removal from the water
A leachate of ASR was used for the synthesis of NPs at different pH levels. The results of a SEM-EDX analysis show the oxide forms of Fe and Zn. XRD and XPS analyses results reveal the highest content of Fe present in NPs. The pseudo-first-order kinetics showed the best fit for phenol degradation by NPs. Possible mechanisms for the degradation of phenol by NPs were also proposed.
