CM skillfulness is a behavioral measure of how well clinicians deliver CM interventions. It was found to be a robust, specific post-training predictor of subsequent client outcomes. It fully mediated an association between a common psychotherapy skill and client outcomes. It partially mediated an association between in-training CM exposure and client outcomes. Six component clinical practice behaviors each contribute meaningfully to CM skillfulness.
