The preferential oxidation of CO (CO-PROX) under excess hydrogen was investigated.

Au/MOx/Al2O3 (M = La, Ce, and Mg) catalysts were compared for CO-PROX.

Au/La2O3/Al2O3 showed the highest activity among them.

The smaller metallic gold particles were most plausible for this reaction.

Au/La2O3/Al2O3 catalyst showed a stable CO-PROX performance in the presence of CO2.
