Cx26, Cx32, Cx37 and Cx43 mRNA are expressed in uterine and placental tissues. Expression of Cx mRNA is time-specific, and influenced by E2 and embryo origin. Estradiol-17β effects are greatest on Cx26 and Cx43 mRNA expression. Connexins may play specific roles in growth and function of uterus and placenta.
