Clec9A and Clec12A exhibit a high rate of internalization from the cell surface. Antigen targeted ex vivo to Clec9A and Clec12A elicits poor MHC I cross-presentation. Targeting antigen ex vivo to Clec12A, but not Clec9A, elicits MHC II antigen presentation by DCs.
