High-pressure Raman study of Terephthalonitrile

Raman spectra of Terephthalonitrile (TPN) from ambient to 12.6 Gpa were measured. Raman modes of TPN at ambient were assigned based on the theoretical calculations. The Raman spectra of TPN under high pressure was analyzed in detail. A phase transition of TPN was observed at near 5.3 Gpa. The pressure-induced structural changes of TPN on the Fermi resonance were analyzed.
