A PLE method has been optimized for the extraction of Aglaonema sp. iminosugars.
Three new iminosugars have been tentatively identified from GC–MS data.
PLE extracts showed a higher α-glucosidase inhibition than iminosugar standards.
Aglaonema extracts were thermically stable and showed no toxicity below 125 μg mL−1.
Results highlight the potential of Aglaonema extracts as functional ingredients.
