146 coronary artery disease (CAD) patients underwent carotid ultrasound and followed for 10 years. The association between ultrasound findings and secondary CAD events was studied. Calcification length and plaque irregularity were associated with secondary events. Calcification length and plaque irregularity were useful for risk classification. Intensive intervention for these high-risk patients may avoid secondary CAD events.
