Plasma BNP, MR-proANP and sCD146 are higher in severe MS compared to moderate MS.
Plasma MR-proANP is not affected by atrial fibrillation in moderate to severe MS.
Pulmonary hypertension secondary to MS is associated with higher BNP and MR-proANP.
MR-proANP may assess severe stenosis and the presence of PH in the early phase.
sCD146 may assess patients with more advanced PH and right ventricular dysfunction.
