Evaluated the performance of several membranes for DCMD treatment of produced water. PP and PTFE showed the highest MD coefficient of 5.6 L/m2/hr/kPa. Long term tests resulted in iron oxide deposits on membrane surface. Iron oxide fouling was found to have negligible impact on permeate flux. DCMD achieved up to 73% water recovery at TDS of 300,000 mg/L.
