Pilot-scale anaerobic co-digestion of sewage sludge with agro-industrial by-products for increased biogas production of existing digesters at wastewater treatment plants
An attempt to improve biogas production of existing digesters at WWTPs is studied. A 5% of OMW, CG or CW to sewage sludge significantly increased biogas production. CG addition presents the largest t-COD (50%) and d-COD (99%) removal. Co-digestion is a sustainable and environmentally-attractive method to treat wastes.
