Entropy production theory is first applied to loss analysis of a LNG pump. Turbulent dissipation and wall friction are primary sources of irreversible loss. The volumetric entropy production rate in impB is the highest (10 000 W/m3K). The separation flow, shock and vortex are hydrodynamic loss factors.
