Designing of silk and ZnO based antibacterial and noncytotoxic bionanocomposite films and study of their mechanical and UV absorption behavior

ZnO nanoparticles were impregnated into PVA- silk protein matrix. The ZnO nanoparticles exhibited narrow size distribution from 25 to 50 nm. AFM studies confirmed planar nature of the surface of the bionanocomposites. The bionanocomposites showed fairly good UV absorption. The bionanocomposites show antibacterial and noncytotoxic nature.
