Significant discrepancies identified in reported INR values vs those generated using their values for PT, ISI, and MNPT. Discrepancies also identified producing significant variation in ISI, MNPT and INR for same reagent lot/instrument combinations. These data partially explain the large inter-laboratory variation in test results reported for INR. Pre- and/or post-analytical (rather than analytical) issues may thus be the main driver for variation in laboratory reported INR values.
