Assessing temporal trends of trace metal concentrations in mosses over France between 1996 and 2011: A flexible and robust method to account for heterogeneous sampling strategies
Variations in time of heavy metals (HM) content in mosses were analyzed in France. Sampling protocol variables were significant in the modeling approach. HM concentrations in mosses vary non-linearly with time. Ecosystem exposure to HM did not simply decrease with time. Further research is needed on this exposure and to optimize the sampling protocol.
