We present the complete genome sequence of Pseudoalteromonas rubra SCSIO 6842, consisting of two circular chromosomes and one large conjugative plasmid.
P. rubra SCSIO 6842 produces cycloprodigiosin which can be served as an alternative source for synthetic pigments in the food industry.
The availability of complete genome of P. rubra SCSIO 6842 will help to improve our understanding of molecular basis for cycloprodigiosin synthesis and regulation.
