Do we provide affordable, accessible and administrable health care? An assessment of SES differential in out of pocket expenditure on delivery care in India
Women who delivered in the private health facilities have paid double amount of money in comparison to the public facilities. Only a handful section of the population was having access to insurance coverage for maternity care. Significant regional inequalities have been observed in terms of expenditure on delivery care. There is an immediate need to improve the facilities in the public health centers to reduce the burden of OOPE.
