We examined 12 Dutch concept mapping studies in public health. Concept mapping was able to integrate knowledge from science, practice, and policy. Concept mapping facilitated most key components of evidence based public health. The variety of viewpoints involved affects external and internal validity of results. Concept mapping can already be seen as a first step towards implementation.
