Hierarchical CdMoO4 porous microspheres were synthesized for the photocatalytic removal of mixed dye aqueous solutions.

The effect of ammonium molybdate concentration, reaction time on specific surface area, pore structure and photocatalytic activity was monitored.

The photocatalytic activity and formation rate of hydroxyl radicals significantly depend on the particle sizes and morphology.

The as-prepared hierarchical CdMoO porous microspheres exhibited enhanced photocatalytic activity and high stability.
