Fast microwave-assisted catalytic co-pyrolysis of lignin and LDPE was studied. Effects of HZSM-5 and MgO were covered. LDPE significantly removed methoxyl groups from phenols. Pathway for alkylation of lignin-derived phenols was proposed. MgO improved alkylated phenols selectivity.
