Tumor suppressor Maspin induces partial macrophage (Mφ) M1 polarization. Maspin inhibits Mφ phagocytosis, and decreases the expression of MR and Dectin-1. Maspin increases Mφ expressing inflammatory cytokines and iNOS, and downregulates Arg-1. Maspin regulates Mφ function partially due to the activation of NF-κB signaling.
