Prolactinomas have the highest rate of recurrence. VEGF plays an important role in angiogenesis and vascular permeability. Little is known about the role of VEGF expression in the growth of prolactinomas. It suggests that angiogenesis may not be primarily mediated by VEGF pathway. VEGF expression may not related to prolactinomas with a higher recurrence.
