MIPs possessed high adsorption capacity and imprinting factor for ERY as template molecules.

The MIPs based electrochemical sensor exhibited considerable selectivity toward ERY, compared to structural analogs of ERY.

The prepared sensor obtained wide linear range and low limit of detection.

An analytical method was established and validated for the determination of ERY in real samples.
